FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This super strong tubular frame adds rigidity and carry comfort to the Jääkäri M backpack when carrying extra heavy loads.
This is essentially simply a downscaled version of the Jääkäri L frame, which was originally designed for the Finnish Border Guard patrol pack back in the late 1980’s - tried and tested stuff! Made in Karstula, Finland, as all our pack frames.
STICK IT IN AND ENJOY
Installation is simple as heck: just slide the frame into the Jääkäri M framesheet compartment, keeping the plastic framesheet on the body side towards your back. You can also remove the framesheet but do note that this can lead to angular objects within your pack poking you in the back from between the back pads. This is of course a problem solved by packing smartly, which you anyways should be doing.
That’s it, now your Jääkäri M is spined up to carry even more stuff, enjoy!

The AL frame doesn't play well with default plastic insert. I do recommend to made custom insert out of 1,5cm eva foam, fixed in to the frame with T-Rex tape. Easy, fast, cheap, functional. You can even make cca 1cm holes to eva to reduce weight if you would like to chase few grams. and for mi 187cm height I will prefere a bit longer back system, roughly by 4cm longer. Otherwise well made, reliable and universal/modular back pack.
Vuoden 2020 Jääkäri M - reppuun ei ihan istu niin, että menisi kokonaan taskun sisään, jostain syystä. Repun ompelu vähän sinnepäin tmv.?
Käytössä silti.
I really love my Jääkäri M, but this makes it a plain better backpack in my opinion. First of all, when you just throw things into the Jääkäri and don’t pack them all neatly, the pack starts taking on a sort of banana-shape from the compression straps. That doesn’t only look a little stupid, but it’s also uncomfortable. The frame completely eliminates that problem. The weight it adds to the backpack isn’t really all that bad considering the Jääkäri M isn’t an ultralight backpack in the first place. One nice bonus is that you can now use the backpack as a chair!
One disadvantage though; the plastic framesheet that’s included with the Jääkäri doesn’t really stay in place, but always tries to sit in weird ways, which is uncomfortable. But this can easily be solved with a few straps of duct tape.
